South Indian actress Shriya Saran is keeping her fingers crossed for her upcoming Tamil movie “Chikku Bukku”. The movie is said to be innovatively conceptualized and is said to be directed by Manikandhan in a new way. Actor Arya, Preethika Rao and Shriya Saran will be playing the lead in the film.

The movie is said to be an experimental movie in Tamil industry, but is said to be filled with rich entertaining elements and is produced by Media One Global Entertainment.

The movie is a city based love story and is said to have a highlight of music composed by colonial Cousins Hariharan and Leslie Lewis.

Telugu actress Shriya Saran is all set to entertain her fans with the Telugu movie “Don Seenu”. The movie will hit screens on August 6th, 2010, which falls on coming Friday and will feature Shriya in another glamorous role.

But Shriya confesses that this movie will not only disclose her glam doll avatar, but has a large scope for acting. It is reported that, Shriya is said to be eagerly waiting for the big day to arrive, as this film, will be a full fledged Telugu movie, with her in the female lead.

Shriya Saran’s career in Bollywood went kaput and she’s not been able to get a career revival too as her comeback vehicles ‘Awaarapan’ and ‘Mission Istanbul’ tanked.

Even her journey to Hollywood turned out to be fruitless with Ashok Amritraj’s non happening movie ‘The Other End of the Line’.

So, now the belle who’s shone quite bright in the southern film industry is turning into a North Indian Punjab Di Kudi in ‘Ek The Power of One,’ another one of her comeback kind of flicks.

In the movie produced by K Sera Sera, Shriya essays the role of a simple effervescent girl from the land of Punjab.

In the movie, her designer Falguni Thakore has given her gorgeous and vivid colours and she’s also flaunting the traditional Phulkari embroidery.

The designer has said, “With Shriya, I had an advantage of a naturally very graceful girl with a beautiful complexion. I used a lot of chiffons, georgettes and breezy fabrics that added to the feminine styling for her look. It was a beautiful experience to re-create the Punjabi jooti’s and jhoomka’s and the little detailing with the parandi’s at al to complete the entire Punjab di kudi feel. The Northern influence was incorporated in the styling and designing of her costumes. Antique silver kurta buttons on short kurti’s, lace salwar’s and dogri’s make up her silhouette for the wardrobe.”

Now that’s quite a makeover and should suit Shriya looks too. Now whether she actually makes it in B-Town after this or not is another story altogether.

Shriya is the most happening actresses in Tamil and Telugu. She has acted with almost all the top most heroes in south India. To top it all she is the heroine of Rajanikanth in ‘Shivaji’, the biggest movie made in India.

Shriya Saran was born in Dehradun to Neeraja and. She was brought up in Ranipur, few miles from Haridwar. Her father Pushpendra Saran works at Bharat Heavy Metal Works and her mother is a schoolteacher, teaching chemistry. Shriya is their second child and her elder brother Abhiroop, recently got married and is living in Delhi. She completed her schooling from Delhi Public School. She did her college in Lady Sri Ram College and has got a B.A. degree to her credit. She has been training Kathak and classical dance from her young age and is an accomplished Kathak dancer. She trained dancing under the guidance of Shobha Narayan.

Shriya started her career as a model and which led to lot of advertisements and music albums. Shriya is the brand ambassador for large brands like Brookbond and Red Label Tea. She started her acting career with the Telugu film ‘Ishtam’ (2001). Thought the film didn’t fare well in the box-office, Telugu producers and directors noticed her potential. She got a big offer to act with Nagarjuna in the film ‘Santosham’ (2002), which turned out a major hit. The films that followed ‘Nuvve Nuvve’ and ‘Bhageeratha’ were also big hits. She has made her comeback in Kollywood through the film ‘Mazhai’ opposite Jayam Ravi. The movie, which was a remake of a Telugu film with the same title, did well at the box-office. Her biggest achievement is when she bagged the much-coveted role opposite Rajinikanth in ‘Sivaji: The Boss’ directed by Shankar. Her new Hindi film ‘Awaarapan’ with Emraan Hashmi directed by Mohit Suri is in the post-production stage. She will also be doing a Hindi film with director Sangeet Sivan starring Bobby Deol, produced by K.Sera.
